I'm Stijn Depril, an independent Enterprise FinOps Architect based in Belgium.

The trigger came in 2022. I was working at VMware when a customer's CTO decided to move workloads back on-prem. Not for technical reasons. For cost reasons.

Cloud bills had spiraled, and no one could explain why. That's when the puzzle pieces fell into place: technology wasn't the problem. The problem was that organisations had lost control over what they were spending and why.

With my infrastructure architect background, I'd always been the person clients asked to connect the dots between technology, finance, and business.

FinOps gave that work a name.

Today, I help enterprise leaders take that control back and prove the value of cloud.

The problem

Enterprises are bleeding money in the cloud not because they lack insights, but because no one owns the problem.

Finance doesn't understand the technology. Technology doesn’t speak the language of finance. And leadership is flying blind.

That's the gap I help close by building practices that connect finance, technology, and leadership around the same perspective..

What I do now

Today, I work as an independent advisor to enterprise leadership teams. I help them design FinOps operating models, align teams & executives around cloud economics, and build governance structures that last at scale.

I bring advice to complexity and I help leaders make better decisions about cloud costs.

When Passion Drives you

When I step away from cloud economics, I usually end up in Scandinavia at a lakeside cabin in Värmland, Sweden. It's where I think, recharge, and find the clarity that fuels everything else.

I share that passion through Zweden Zien an information website for Dutch speakers in Belgium and the Netherlands.
